Cinders was dumped in the mapusa fish market as a kitten. She was living in a warren of old rat holes by the rubbish tip when spotted. We fed her on each visit and she would emerge and wait for food on our arrival, but we could get no nearer to her. On the onset of the monsoon weather, there was no doubt she would soon drown as this area is always flooded. We had one last try with a cat trap, and caught her.
She now lives at the Tree House and spends most of her time in the kitchen.
